WINTER WILDERNESS SURVIVAL - TOUR OVERVIEW
Ever wonder how you would fare if dropped off in the wilderness with nothing but the clothing on your back? If you’re an urban dweller you may have pondered if you could make it without societies lifeline. Most of us never give it a second thought. But every year we hear stories of someone’s car breaking down in the middle of nowhere, a hiker getting lost or a skier becoming trapped in a snowstorm.
Tahoe JAck’s wilderness survival courses are designed to provide participants with the necessary skills to survive, build shelter, maintain body temperature, forge for food, find safe water resources, navigate terrain and utilize rescue methods. Our courses focus on not only what to do in a survival situation, but also what not to do. In addition, we will cover proper procedures when exposed to nature’s elements and how to combat mental and emotional hurdles often confronted with when presented with a wilderness survival situation.
This is a great adventure course for all age groups 7 and up – and those who either frequent the outdoors or would just like to have the knowledge for a rainy day.
Learn shelter construction techniques to keep you out of the elements and insulated against harsh weather conditions.
Water Resources & Safety
Drinking water is a dangerous business in the wilderness. Learn techniques on how to purify water and locate safe drinking sources.
Increase your likelihood of being found and rescued through several proven wilderness tactics.
Understanding where you are is essential to finding where you need to be. From reading the landscape, locating North and understanding our earth’s rotation we’ll give you the tools to navigate your way to safety.
Fire is essential. Not only to stay warm, but also as a signaling method to be rescued. We’ll take a look at various methods to start a fire from nothing but our surroundings.

Let’s face it – a trip to your local supermarket is out of the question. Learn to forage for food and how to keep your calorie intake at proper levels in the wilderness.
